Who’s going to be the next Spidey on Broadway? That’s yet to be determined, but Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark is currently having casting calls for the next leads. Both the Peter Parker and Mary Jane parts are open.
Reeve Carney, who was the first Broadway Spider-Man, is leaving the cast on September 15th. Casting calls begin today in Los Angeles at the Hollywood United Methodist Church on Franklin Avenue.
According to Backstage.com, the casting directors and creative team are really looking for leads in their 20s with good singing voices. Further “Mary Jane candidates should be ‘beautiful girl next door’ types, and Peter Parker hopefuls should have an ‘understated sex appeal and a sense of humor’.” Do you have what it takes to be the next MJ or Peter Parker?
Spider-Man opened in 2011 and has become famous for being a “fun, high-flying adventure” (MTV.com Spider-Man Review). The music and lyrics were written by U2’s Bono and The Edge, and the musical is based on the Spider-Man comics published by Marvel Comics.
